Rev. Brenda Harewood
Reverend Brenda K. Harewood is an Executive Mission leader with the Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Convention who has traveled around the world in service to God’s people. Her mission endeavors have led her to engage in ministry on six of the world’s seven continents, namely Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America. She speaks German, Dutch, and Sranan Tongo fluently.
Rev. Harewood currently serves as the Lott Carey’s Regional Liaison to the Caribbean and South America and as Director of Lott Carey’s Pastoral Excellence Program (PEP). The Pastoral Excellence Program helps pastors in African American congregations to broaden their visions of ministry; build networks support with colleagues around the world; and deepen their ministry impact through a series of international mission immersions in African and Africa Diaspora context.

§ Assistant Camp Director at Camp Rock Fish, North Carolina
§ Assistant Director for the Durham County Methodist Mission Society
§ Student Pastor for the Guyana Missionary Baptist Churches
Rev. Harewood graduated from Shaw University with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Philosophy and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and from Duke University Divinity School where she received her Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology degrees. She did additional graduate studies at Boston University School of Theology.
Rev. Harewood is married to Philip A. Harewood and they are parents of two adult children and Dustin Harewood (Yuki) and Danielle Harewood Purcell (Daryl). They are also the proud grandparents of Holland, and Milan Purcell; and Hinata Harewood.
